What is this course about?

Recent advancements in technology enable smarter homes where everything from fans to lights can be operated automatically/ remotely, saving energy and human effort. In this course, you will develop a Home Automation System using WiFi communication and serve as an application to Internet of Things (IoT). The system you develop allows you to remotely control home appliances with your smartphone and a special Android application. The system is fitted with a WiFi module, Arduino Uno and relay switches to automatically control the appliances. Wireless connectivity is ideal for this automation project because it works within the range of your home.

By building this project, you will practically learn about Internet of Things (IoT) technology, basic framework of a home automation system and automation using arduino programming.

The projects that you will develop as part of this course are,

  • Real-time monitoring temperature on Thing speak platform
  • Home automation (AC appliances On/Off)
