Home Automation Project Description – Problem Statement

As part of the challenge, the participants have to build a Home Automation System that is operated using a Mobile Phone and controlled through Bluetooth Communication.
The Home Automation System should satisfy the following criteria:

• The system should be driven by a 8051 microcontroller based Development Board
• The system should be capable of controlling 2 electric devices, which are powered by 220V AC Supply
• The system should be able to switch on/off the devices remotely through a simple Mobile App
• Use a basic App on a smart phone (readily available from App Store or self-made) to control the electric devices
• Toggle between both the devices with a preset delay ( 5 seconds) by pressing just one button on the app
• The communication between the phone and the Home Automation device should be wireless and should use Bluetooth protocol

Video Submission Criteria

• The video should have clear demonstration of the project
• The video should have the participant clearly visible in addition to the project
• The video should explain the project development in phases (ex: Flowchart)

Kit to be used

• You can use any 8051 micro-controller based development board. You can buy Skyfi Labs 8051 micro-controller based development board
• Bluetooth Module
